Common Issues
Below you will find some of the more common issues found on a used pool table. Cloth too loose
For proper play, the cloth should be tight. If your cloth is loose, the balls will not roll properly. Your cloth needs to be put back on correctly.
Cushions not glued on properly
If the cushions are not glued on properly they will not have the correct bounce. You need to have the cushions re-glued in the correct position for proper play.
Gap in corners
Your table should be assembled properly to where there are no gaps in the corners.
Pockets not set properly
If your pockets are not set in and attached to your table properly, they could cause problems with the ball bouncing back out of the pocket or dropping to the floor.
Glued slate seams
If your slate seems are glued together like this, it could cause a gap and affect the play of the table.
Rookie Strips
This is what we call rookie strips. If the cloth is not pulled properly or the installer cut the cloth too far up the side of the pocket they may use rookie strips to cover up the slate. It does not affect the play, but is unsightly.
